I can't expect you guys to like each other, but can we at least be cordial and get back to the discussion at hand?

Refs are optional in any matches and they are available at the discretion of the players in the match ONLY. Pretty simple guys. Any further thoughts on the griefing guidelines? Did we leave anything out?

Also, spark, Team YOUR FACE! is interested in a rematch because of the sub situation on your team. If you guys are interested I suggest sending @Alena a message. Or feel free to contact me.

Any other teams have trouble with reschedules?

Again. We are available for any of the matches. If any player on any team REQUESTS that we attend or moderate the matches, we will. Otherwise, play on. Keep in mind though that this might limit your ability to reschedule. Sunday, should be enough of us there though.

Drama aside, I have to agree with X. This is a very casual league, no major prizes, just fun. Rescheduling does seem to be a difficult thing, especially when you are trying to get 6 people together. As far as I know, all three of us are available to mediate or watch a match if you let us know ahead of time. And at the request of the players, I'm sure we can work it out. But making a requirement does seem to add more red tape to get through.

That brings up another issue we ran into. Anyone in a fully registered team should not be eligible to compete as a sub-pool player. The idea behind this is sub-pool players are not invested in the outcome of the league rounds, so win or loss it doesn't effect any record they have (since well...they don't have a record).

This is not to say they can't fight in practice matches, just not in a scheduled league matches as an alternate. Any thoughts on this?

Hello all.

From what I have read on the forum and heard in private messages (in game) there is some concern about griefing and generally defining the term.

Because this league is in its first inception, there will most likely be things we forgot to add to the rules and guidelines. I'd like to open up this discussion to all of the players involved. Have you noticed anything that you would consider unfair? If you have, please describe it here (hopefully without directly accusing any other team).

I personally have thought of three things that might be an issue that we might not have addressed.

1. Spawn camping. The arena has had numerous variations in how the mechanics of respawning works. Our current system is a static location for ALL team members (different location per team), a rolling timer and a 10 second "unaffected" period. Spawn camping would consist of players from one team setting up an offensive at the location of an opposing teams respawn. While the "unaffected" period prevents damage to the respawned players while they buff and prepare, it can still pose a problem. Targeting is still viable as well as some toggle debuffs. Generally it is fair consensus that players allow opposing teams a extended respawn zone. If a player is still on the respawn location buffing themselves or toggling, it is polite to allow them to move into a more common battleground area. This leads to the next issue.
2. Turtleing. Which I suspect we will see very little of this (its more of a component to zone PvP) I do believe the guidelines of etiquette for spawn camping could lead to turtleing. This would be a player or players staying in the respawn area and not engaging the enemy when the score is leaning in their favor. But again, because of the mechanics of the arena, I find this will be a rarely occuring issue.
3. Inspiration. The rules state that tier 1 inspiration are the only ones allowed. These can be bought from the vendor at any arena. If you believe that your opponent has anything except tier 1, insist on an inspiration swap. This is where you initiate a trade window, drag ALL of your inspiration into the trade so the other player can see, then cancel.

So again, lets open this up for discussion. After we talk about it, we will hopefully formalize these etiquette guidelines into our current or next years rule set.

Makes sense, would be nice to have something like healing stats, buff stats etc, but I can just imagine the headache in collecting that.

Healing is still viable with decay on (which isn't even an option at this point). And without a really really good reason, I don't think we should be changing any of the rules in the middle of the season. It's something to consider for next season for sure, but you don't wanna have 3 weeks with heal decay on (because we don't have the option to remove it) and then 5 weeks with it off. That creates all kinds of problems.

Also, nice thing about 3 person teams: you can have a person filling a very specific role and do quite well. It's really how the group works together that matters. Heal decay would have a much bigger impact on the old blaster/emp 2v2 combos. Not to diminish its impact here of course.
