  2. Background: I have been playing City of Heroes for quite some time (51 vet badge last i remember) and I have always duo, played with friends, or did PUGs. Normally I create my characters based on concept and they have always been leveled and slotted to efficiently do there job on team. My controllers controlled, my tanks tank, my defenders defend and my peacebringers . . .well they bring peace I guess :-) But you get the picture.
    I have avoided IO sets since they came about and just buy common IOs so i don't have to go to store every 3-4 levels. I don't get much play time and don't want to spend it looking around an auction house.

    Now that my background story is outta the way, I can ask for some advice on one of my favorite characters to date . . .my Illusion/Thermal controller. I gave that background story to let the community know where I'm coming from. But for this character I wanna try something different. I want to solo and battle AVs and run all the TFs. I read the forums all the time, rarely post, but i read. And I see thread after thread of AV killer Controllers. I've watched the videos and seen the pics. I wanna join in the fun. I know Illusion/Rad can handle AVs and just about anything just fine. But I wanna fight AVs with my Illusion/Thermal. . . or die trying. Either way I am reaching out to the forums for some build advice.
    The toon is lvl 40 at the moment and before I pick my epic I figured this was good time to start planning an IO build. I have put together a build below. First attempt. Go easy on me. I am open to any advice or help but there are some things i must point out before anyone waste there time posting it to me.

    1. The toon is Illusion/Thermal. Period . . .not changing or starting over.
    2. I like Superior Invis. Not dropping it.
    3. I don't have nor do I really see myself amassing billions in influence. I have some other toons with maybe 100 million total i can tap into.

  3. I just wanted to post something I noticed while testing. Now that the damage modifiers have been changed for dominators with I7, the Ice assualt set needs it powers descriptions updated. Greater Ice Sword (which is listed as HIGH damage) does the same damage as Bitter Ice Blast (which is listed as Superior). The damage is not exactly the same but in most cases within 2 points unless fighting something with strong lethal (GIS) or smashing (BIB) resist. I tested this against several numbers of Freaks, Wailers, Tsoo, and Family. Most of us who look at the patch notes will be able to know that melee for dominators is higher than ranged, but for a player new to the dominator AT this could be very misleading.

    I am sure there are other powers like this among the other powersets too.
