  1. How'd you get the watercolors from getting onto certain parts? It's very precise.
  2. Chugging along on the inking. Island base part's almost done.
  3. Coloring in pencil works:
From what I've done, you do *nothing* with all the white and shiny parts (leave them paper-white), shade the dark colors very darkly, and the lighter colors with a lighter shade. Basically you're taking the picture, and turning it into black and white with your pencil.

Also, you're hammering closer to the feet, but you're not *quite* at the right shape yet (it needs to be a little lengthier in this example). Keep experimenting. Try doing a whole page of feet in different positions/angles for practice.

You're getting better though. The key thing is to find your mistakes and correct them in the future.
  4. New pencil comic:
    Viewtiful Shmoe in "Envy":
    Page 1
    Page 2

Still inking the Nemesis piece. Gonna take awhile, so I'm trying to fit in pencil works.
  5. Good stuff, but just a critique to help you improve:

The color looks a bit flat. I'm not sure, but I think a sharper shading on it (less blur in some muscle tone spots) would make it jump out more.

Just my 2 cents. Still a good piece, though.
  6. A promising start. Keep practicing and you'll skyrocket. I've tried to draw at least one thing everyday over the last month (I started May 29), and I've noticed a huge improvement in my work.

    Two things about the piece:
    1. Feet: Whenever I draw feet, I round it out to sort of a flipper shape, depending on the type of foot (shoe, spandex, etc.).
    2. You *can* draw out an electrical effect. For example, try drawing a rough circle, and arc out electrical bolts from that circle. Viola: Electric orbs. You can come up with different (and better!) techniques, but I'm just giving you something to start with.

Just keep drawing and drawing. Study other people's art, and how they use their technique (shading on certain parts, etc.). Knowing anatomy helps a ton too. Just keep going and develop your own style. The more dedicated you are to improving, the faster you'll improve, IMO.
  7. Newest pencil:
    Nemesis Empire

I'll see if I can ink it sometime soon. I love how it came out, though.

Edit: Here's a darkened version, if you prefer.
  8. Here's a rather bandaid version, Red.

    Ok, things for today:
    1. Scan and post Nemesis Empire pencil.
    2. Ink it.
    3. If finished with 2, color it.
    4. Maybe record guitar performance for next year's talent show. Going to guitar practice soon.
  9. I do enjoy a good painting, and you do good paintings.
  10. Newest pencil comic:

    Red Alerter in "Recruitment"

Dang scanner cut out some of the dialogue at the bottom. In the last panel, the dialogue cut was:

    States: Nerfing Illusion.
    Red: Aww!

    Hope you like it, Red.

Any and all requests are still taken, guys. I got a clean slate right now.
  11. Red, your comic is done and is pretty dang good. It'll be up later tonight or tomorrow.
  12. Newest pencil:

    Skiddel - "Turf Wars"

    Hope you like it, Skiddel.

I'll start on yours tomorrow, Red. I'm thinking a pencil comic, just to let you know.
  13. Skiddel, yours is done and will be up later tonight.
  14. Here's a very minorly updated version. The shape of the mouth was driving me crazy, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

Anyway, everything's on track and I'll get started on your pencil pretty soon here, Skiddel. If I'm still in the groove, I'll probably do Red's right then and there, but no promises.
  15. I'd love to, but I need you to fix that link you gave, first. I'll also need your powersets.
  16. I'm baaack!

    Skiddel - "Stick 'Em Up"

I did this fully on my Wacom tablet, and I think I'll stick to just pencil when it comes to lineart, and use the Wacom tablet for just coloring and painting. My lineart looks really rough, so Skiddel, I'm going to start on a pencil work for you tomorrow, free.

Hope you like the comic, anyway!

Edit: Also, I'm gonna need some more requests (still free). I currently have none, other than Skiddel's. So if I don't get any after that, I'll come up with whatever.
  17. Skiddel, I'll get started on it tomorrow (or tonight, looking at the time).
  18. I'm busy this whole week, but it'll get done. Could I trouble you for some pics of your thugs? I'm not totally familiar with the set.
  19. Can I be a backbone when I start getting critiques from you, PMD?

Anyway, I agree, the orange look of it all makes it seem kinda bland. Still awesome, though.
  20. Pep, the one in the background is flipped horizontally.
  21. My calling to black and white pencilling has returned and a new piece has been finished. It will be up later today.
  22. I spiffed it up. Just refresh the link.
