  1. Get to do one of my crazy 'long day' trips today.

11am -> ?pm: Remove debris from a property my grandmother is trying to sell.

6pm -> ?am: Local D&D group shenanigans (SHENANIGANS!). Lulz will be had. Monsters will probably be suplexed (if I get to suplex a dragon with my sword-ninja, I will squeal like a schoolgirl. Heck, just the PROSPECT of suplexing a dragon will make me :3 in the fase).

...I will probably sleep the entirety of Monday.
  2. I typically use regular enhancements until 32, before switching off to IOs. It's nothing more then a personal preference on my part - I don't see the point in investing in things that are, routinely, going to be at or just slightly above the performance rate on something I can get faster (technically - there's construction time on IOs, or slightly cost-inefficient marketing returns on them at various levels; 30-50k for an L15 DO-equivlant IO [depends on market that day] when I can spend the same amount and slot out the majority of my powers to my liking is a bit inefficient in my opinion; While the IO would last until 22, the fact is for the cost of maybe 3 or 4 of them total I can get my entire DO levels out of the way; The situation with SOs is similar enough that it doesn't bother me having to put up with them for 10 levels either), until the point at which the IOs themselves get to a level where the 'average' of performance is the top-end for the slot investment - level 35 IOs are slightly better then +3 SOs at that point, and are usually what I use from 32 -> 50+ (that is, I keep most of my IOs at level 35 even after I've hit 50 and can technically slot superior). Further, at 32, I don't bother slotting commons unless I'm in a money crunch, and go straight towards Frankenslotting (for maximum output) and shift myself closer towards getting set bonuses that I find attractive.

I usually have 20-30m by the time I hit 32 on most of my characters, and find it trivial to get at least a handful of the bonuses I'm usually after... and even moreso to get a set of 4 or 5 in some of my earlier powers. This is also assuming I don't get lucky and pick up an IO I'm looking for my end-game build before then; I keep any interesting yellow/orange IOs I get from 25+ on the off-chance I end up actually using that set.

Don't think I've ever spent more then 50-60m total for any one build in particular (my Mastermind probably has the most expensive build I've ever done, and that's only because I slotted her out completely twice over).

...still, I'd like to say again it's almost entirely personal preference. I don't like standing around a whole lot doing the market shuffle when I'm playing a character, at least until I hit 32 and start my slow glide anyway. I'm an altoholic, and with 30 character slots to spread my attention across, standing around doing market stuff for any period that's not just a simple inventory dump is a waste for me.
  3. Butane, mang... You're doing yourself a horrible credibility disservice leaning so hard on Mids numbers.

Just now got done verifying both in-game with Real Numbers, and City of Data, that Scrapper's base damage with Smite is 82.58 and the Tanker base is 58.73... exactly the same figures that Kali gave.

I'm more willing to trust her numbers at this point, having two sources of credible verification of it. Unless you want to tell me that the in-game measurement is off?
  4. Living in a fairly similar situation (hottest room in the house - are you at the *exact* south corner as well in a 2-story home? ...It's for science!), I totally sympathize with your heat situation, mang. Those are nooot the most survivable conditions.

Glad to hear your eye condition is improving, though! Take care not to stress them too hard, though. You don't wanna go blind!
  5. This is my personal favorite.

You can mime it with the Enforcer Top/Bikini Bottom as well, if you don't have the assorted Vanguard pieces yet (or any of the other glitz/flash). Boots are up to you, but thigh-highs work excellent on taking up excess skin space. The additional chest bit is also optional.

I've used variations on that as a sort of pseudo-uniform for my personal VG and all of the characters in it, but Karen's is the only one I've a screenshot of. It's all about matching for taste, after all!
  6. *Naps on Rad's head. z.z*

Sleeepy fox. Can't seem to stay focused on doing anything lately, which is starting to get a bit annoying.
  7. I've been keeping mine in the 350x100 area. A 100 on height is about as large as I think I'll ever go, honestly, though I could see myself doing a 600x100 at some point if I ever got enough image together for it... though, my current one is about where I want it on size.

S'visible, but not quite to the point of being obtrusive.
  8. Reminds me to go out and actually get some more fonts. I really just worked with what I had, and while I'm happy with how it turned out... I could probably do a little more with it. But it's not like mine was all that complicated.

The hard part was really splicing out the image from it's source-image. It took at least ten times as long to do that then it did the rest of it (which was literally just me playing around). Also intended to go with a lighter background color, but laziness kicked in (I was thinking a misty cloud blue).

Hmmm... now I'm tempted to play around with it more.
  9. Awesome piece, Box-man! And major props to Poison for the excellent work. It's very dramatic - the little details on the hat in particular are eye-catching.

Zhis news makes me a happy Controller/Dominator fan. ;_; You have no idea.

...the fact that Masterminds also benefit is just a bonus, really.
  11. Bleh. Feeling horribly unmotivated today. :| Just can't think of anything I really wanna do at all.

*Offers Viv a seat on the FoC-Turtle, and some ham-and-applesauce.*

Even my morning cup of coffee doesn't make me feel so great.
  12. ... Oh my goodness. :3c

    Such is life.
    Thought synchronization is amusing. :3

I always looked at it like a friendly competition - then again, maybe it's because I come from a background of gaming where I find competition fun when it's got the right tone to it. Years of doing friends-only tournaments in various styles in card games, FPSes, tabletop wargames, and the like have sort of colored my perception of events like this. It's competitive, but it's not seriously competitive, and no matter who wins or loses, it's about the interactions along the way. It's about pushing yourself to compete and improve yourself at doing something you, and people you hang out with or talk to regularly enjoy. Not about something that's given at the end (especially something like just a title).

:/ Sometimes, however, I stop and realize that not everyone around me has the same views and experiences. And some of those times, that makes me a little sad. I just sort of viewed this like a little competition between generally friendly people, specifically for the art each month and less about the end result.

I don't think TA has done a terrible job, but I suppose he has been a bit lax about it. It happens, though, especially in times like these. But he has made a dedicated effort to try and get things in order (though only when he can get the time to), and that's worth something there. Heart's in the right place, but the time to do it is lacking due to other circumstances... nothing to be truly upset about there. I didn't really have any issues with how the last few competitions go, but a few people have (and if memory serves, not people actually participating in the competition for the most part).

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Hey Petey! Hey Dragon, nice to see ya both.
Tis, though it's in a different orientation (about 45 degrees right). I had originally intended to, should I find an ideal image, include more leg in the shot... but I didn't have that kind of luxury at all. Wouldn't have ended up looking right in the final cut.

I'd dig it out, but it's unfortunately on my External HDD, which has some wonky issues with working properly. :/ I try not to poke at it all that often, in fear of losing more data with each attempt.

...and there's the fact I'm uncertain how board-safe the REST of that image is, considering the folder I dredged it out of. I had some really weird art collection habits back in the day (I used to do a lot of avatar work for a graphical-chat program, and built up a huge collection of random [and risque] images over 2 years).
  18. Eesh. Today's been a bit of a gut punch overall.

    Best wishes to Juggertha!
  19. :/ That's a regrettable turn of events, Tacky.

Still, it works. I really wanted to throw something in there that would actually go with the quote... and, well. As you can tell, that was a hard quote to find something for that was going to be even remotely work-friendly.
  21. Rawr. Finally done working through at least a few of my projects. Including my signature bar! Yay!
  22. Finally got around to screwing around, and throwing something together to make up for the fact I can't really list any characters in my signature due to the line limits.

EDIT: And then the place I have it stored implodes. Awesome.
  23. Very useful resource, PK! Thanks for posting it, and special thanks to all the contributors.
  24. *Runs around in circles.*

Lunch date, aaand plans tonight to blow things up. And I just got up! Panic!

As to the weekend, I pretty much spent most of it (barring Sunday) doing other stuff but logging in this time around. Sunday, I spent the entirety of my day hanging out with my local gaming group instead of doing... darn near anything else.

That's my general attitude towards it.
